Complaints

If you are dissatisfied with your celebrant, do discuss the matter with him / her.

 

For a serious complaint you may have about the service you have received from an authorised marriage celebrant you may make a complaint to the Attorney General's office.

 

The complaint must be made in writing within three months of the matter complained of and sent to -

The Registrar of Marriage Celebrants

Commonwealth Attorney General's Department

Robert Garran Offices

BARTON ACT 2600

 

The complaint must contain -

  • Your full name and contact details
  • The name of the marriage celebrant to whom the complaint relates
  • The full details of the complaint
  • Whether or not the matter has been the subject of other proceedings (such as a report made to the police)
